"Don't be a burglar," said Chattanooga Police Sgt. Victor Miller. It is a simple admonition that, if followed, could save a lot of trouble. All burglaries are felonies. That especially holds true in this week's case.
To Hixson Pike we go, and the Cali Smoke and Vape Shop. Overnight burglaries on May 31 and June 1 cost the business big time.
"Not once, but twice, back to back, within 24 hours," said Miller."The first night, two suspects appeared to be black males, threw a cinder block through the front door. They enter the store. The alarm did go off, and we responded; however, they already had selected items and left before we got there."
Apparently, they recruited help for their return engagement. "The second night, there were three suspects," Sgt. Miller continued.
"They all appear to be black males that were wearing hoodies, and they're also wearing backpacks underneath the hoodie, and they're facing forward so, as they're taking the items, they're putting them under the hoodie, into the backpack."
The video is not the best, but pay close attention to what the three are wearing. Maybe that is a clue. Over the two nights, they made a big score and left quite a bit of damage.
"The totality both nights is approximately $10,000 in damage and items that they took," Miller said. "They took things from cigars, vapes, and multiple different CBD items."
We have up to a $1,000 reward if you can provide any information on these suspects. Maybe you do not know them, but you have seen a place they frequent. Investigators say they are likely local.
"We believe that they left on foot, and they came on foot, and they live nearby, or they had a getaway car nearby," Sgt. Miller said.
